Hilary Duff and husband Matthew Koma welcomed their child and shared the name for their new daughter.
Hilary Duff, known for her roles in “Lizzie McGuire” and “How I Met Your Father,” took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her fourth child. Sharing a series of touching black and white photos shortly after her water birth, Duff revealed that her newborn daughter, named Townes Meadow Bair, joined the family on May 3.
The little one joins older brother Luca, 11 — who Duff welcomed with ex-husband Mike Comrie and older sisters Banks, 5, and Mae, 2.
The actress joyfully expressed her anticipation of holding her newborn daughter, describing the past five days with Townes as “pure moments of magic.” This isn’t her first time as a mother; she shares two daughters, Mae James and Banks Violet, with her husband, Matthew Koma, and has a son named Luca from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.
Hilary Duff openly discussed the challenges leading to Townes’s arrival in an Instagram post from April 22. In it, she gently but firmly addressed inquiries about the baby’s arrival, stressing the importance of patience and reminding everyone that babies come on their own schedule.
The pregnancy was announced in December 2023 with a holiday card on social media, featuring her cradling her baby bump alongside her husband and children. Throughout her pregnancy, she offered glimpses into her journey, from exhaustion to lighthearted reflections on parenting four children.
Fans and celebrities rallied around Duff to celebrate her daughter’s arrival, sending messages of love and congratulations. With Townes’s birth, Duff’s family expands once more, brimming with love, laughter, and the promise of new adventures.
In later December, the busy parents found themselves coincidentally celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary with their fourth little one on the way.
Koma expressed his love in a social media post, writing, “4 years married today and I’m just now finding out my wife thinks a bunch of U2 songs are Creed. I love you so much @hilaryduff.”
In her own social media tribute, Hilary Duff quipped, “Even though sometimes you think it goes kids, dogs, then you. That’s not true. You forgot about the chickens…. Happy 4 babe!”
