Chrissy Anderson, Vice President of North America Brand Commercialization at Disney Consumer Products, shared the excitement in an official press release. She highlighted that fans of all ages can celebrate Minnie’s historic parade debut this year.
Minnie’s balloon debut coincides with her nearing her 100th birthday, which she will celebrate in 2028. Her first appearance was in Steamboat Willie, a 1928 short film. Though new as a balloon, Minnie has previously appeared in the parade as a costumed character with Mickey on the Disney float.
Joining Minnie in the skies are five other new balloons making their first appearance. These include Spider-Man, Marshall from PAW Patrol, Goku from Dragon Ball, Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse, and Extraordinary Noorah alongside the Elf on the Shelf.
This year’s parade also features a brand-new float from Disney Cruise Line. The float highlights the company’s growth and includes a special performance with characters from Disney Animation, Pixar, and more.
