Angelina Jolie’s Kids Prefer Privacy Over Fame

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

Recently, Angelina Jolie shared insights into her children’s views on fame. At the AFI premiere of her new film, Maria, in Los Angeles on October 27, she revealed that none of her kids plan to pursue acting careers like their famous parents.

In her conversation with E! News, Jolie emphasized her children’s preference for privacy. “No, I think they’re especially shy, very private people,” she explained. She further noted, “They want to be private.” This sentiment reflects a conscious choice her children have made, steering clear of the spotlight.

The topic of family support also came up during her interview. A few days prior, Jolie had dropped her legal case against the Department of Justice and FBI related to documents about the 2016 plane incident involving Pitt. A source close to the family later told PEOPLE that her kids are her strongest advocates.

“Over the past few years, she has built a life for herself and the children that brings them happiness,” the insider stated. Despite earlier struggles, Jolie feels a deep sense of pride in her children’s resilience and strength. “They are her biggest supporters too,” the source added, highlighting their close-knit bond.

Transitioning to Jolie’s outlook on the future, the insider explained that she is eager to move beyond past challenges. “Being stuck in the past is not anything that Angie wants,” they said. Jolie is focused on her family, her work, and what lies ahead. “These are all things that make her happy,” they emphasized.

In September, Jolie opened up about a special moment shared with her daughter Vivienne. In an interview with CR Fashion Book, she revealed that they got matching tattoos during their time working on the Broadway musical The Outsiders. “I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders,” Jolie shared. The phrase is significant, referring to one of the original songs in the show, which Jolie co-produced alongside Vivienne.

Jolie expressed how meaningful the tattoo is for both of them. “It means so much to us separately and together,” she said. She first showcased the tattoo in April at the opening night of the Broadway show. While she proudly displayed her ink on her wrist, she did not specify where Vivienne chose to place her version of “Stay Gold.”

Overall, Angelina Jolie is navigating her career while nurturing a strong family unit. Her children’s desire for privacy underscores their individual personalities and choices. Jolie’s focus remains on fostering a supportive environment for her kids, ensuring they thrive away from the public eye. As she continues to evolve as both a mother and a filmmaker, her commitment to her family remains unwavering.
