Armie Hammer Sells Beloved Truck Due to Rising Gas Costs

Armie Hammer is making significant changes.

On Tuesday, August 27, the 37-year-old actor shared a video on Instagram revealing his decision to sell his cherished truck.

Armie Hammer explained that he’s downsizing for financial reasons. “I’ve been back in L.A. for a couple of weeks now. This is my truck,” he said in the video. The truck in question is a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Pickup, which he bought for himself as a Christmas gift in 2017.

“I’ve loved this truck intensely,” Hammer continued.

He described how the truck accompanied him on numerous adventures, including camping trips and long road journeys. “I took it for one last road trip to CarMax,” he added.

As Hammer showed the CarMax sign in the video, he clarified that the clip wasn’t a commercial. “This is because I’m selling my truck,” he explained. He shared that since returning to Los Angeles, he had spent between $400 and $500 on gas. “I can’t afford it anymore,” he admitted.

The actor reminisced about the truck’s role in his life. He fondly recalled bringing his children home from the hospital and the many amazing trips they had taken together. Hammer shares daughter Harper, 9, and son Ford, 7, with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers.

Despite the sentimental value, Hammer is moving forward.

“That’s okay,” he said. “I got a new car. It’s tiny and a hybrid. I’ll probably spend about $10 on gas each month.” He looked ahead with optimism, saying, “Here’s to new beginnings. It’s my birthday tomorrow.”

Hammer’s birthday falls on August 28, and he plans to start it in a new car, a new apartment, and a new chapter in Los Angeles. He expressed gratitude towards his old truck, saying, “I appreciate it all. I hope you take as good of care of the next person.”

In July, Hammer appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he addressed past allegations, including claims of sexual and physical abuse, and even cannibalism. He firmly denied ever consuming human flesh during the interview. Hammer also discussed his intense affair, which contributed to his 2023 divorce from Chambers.

The actor revealed that the severe accusations led him to contemplate suicide, though he chose to remain alive for his children.

He noted that he was later allowed only supervised visits with them.

In June, sources reported that Hammer was working hard to rebuild his life. “He wants to prove himself and regain credibility by working his way back into Hollywood,” an insider stated. “He doesn’t want to rely on favors.”

Another source added, “He hasn’t leaned on family wealth or his last name. It appears he’s committed to recovery and personal growth.”
