Following turbulent weather that led attendees of the August 6 Renaissance tour to seek shelter at  FedEx Field, Beyoncé contributed $100,000 to the DC Metro system to extend its operating hours by an additional hour for the convenience of commuters.

Beyonce displayed a remarkable gesture of goodwill towards her devoted fans during her recent Renaissance concert.

Amidst inclement weather that swept over FedEx Field in Maryland on August 6th, the Grammy-winning artist’s performance encountered a substantial delay as concertgoers were compelled to take shelter. However, Queen Bey took it upon herself to ensure a smoother journey home for her fans. She generously contributed $100,000 to the DC Metro system, allowing it to operate an hour later than usual.

On August 6th, the official Metrorail Twitter account conveyed, “Hold Up #Beyhive, Metro & Renaissance Tour will extend the last train by an extra hour to weather the storm. The last Silver Line train toward Ashburn tonight will now depart Morgan Boulevard at 1:04 a.m.”

This benevolent action transpired hours after the venue had implemented precautions due to the ongoing storm. The FedEx Field Twitter account informed, “Due to lightning in the area, we are currently under a shelter in place order. Fans outside of gates and in the parking lots are asked to return to their cars. All fans inside of the stadium are asked to shelter in place under covered concourse areas and ramps until further notice.”

As reported by local journalist Christian Flores, a representative from the stadium revealed that several fans required treatment for heat exhaustion while adhering to the shelter in place directive.

Nevertheless, the performance carried on, and in light of learning about Beyoncé’s contribution to guarantee their secure journey back, fans lauded the artist for her thoughtful gesture.
