It’s been reported that Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have split after 7 years of marriage.
Things seemed rocky for a while.
And that amped up while Sofia was posting trips of a lavish birthday vacation over the past month. But Joe didn’t appear in a single one (though his reps did say that he was working). And when her big day rolled around? All he posted was a grainy photo, with the caption: ¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!
While Vergara and Manganielo had always seemed to pride themselves on their opposites attract relationship vibe, it seems that those differences might have finally caught up with them. Though, it’s now coming to light from several different sources close to the couple, that kids were likely the biggest reason for the split.
According to Page Six, Manganielo had been more and more keen on the idea of having children with this wife, while Vergara was much less interested. She shares a 31-year-old son with her ex, Joe Gonzales.
In the divorce paperwork, which was filed by Manganielo, he cited “irreconcilable differences” as the official cause of their split.
This is not the first time that Vergara has had issues with a partner surrounding children. In March of 2021 she found herself in court over the question of what to do with two embryos she had frozen via ivf in 2013 with her ex-fiance, Nick Loeb. Vergara wanted them disposed of, while Loeb wanted to bring them to term. A judge ultimately sided with Vergara and the case was closed.
There were also claims that Manganielo’s long-time sobriety had a negative effect on the marriage.
“Of course the fact that Sofía is not sober had an impact on their marriage,” a source told the Daily Mail in regard to news of the split. “He was warned about this when he started dating her and again before marrying her.”
