Kim Zolciak, a former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member, has filed for divorce from Kroy Biermann after 11 years of marriage, citing that their relationship is “irretrievably broken.”
Kim Zolciak has filed for divorce from her husband, ex-NFL player Kroy Biermann after 11 years of marriage.
The couple separated on April 30, with Zolciak citing their marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Since Kroy Biermann was dropped from the Buffalo Bills team in 2016, the couple has faced difficulties and reportedly not been on the same page.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum is seeking primary physical custody and joint legal custody of her children. She shares four children, Kroy Jr. who is 11, Kash who is 10, and 9-year-old twins Kane and Kaia, with her husband Kroy. In addition, she is also a mother to Brielle, who is 25, and Ariana, who is 21.
In addition, the reality star is seeking spousal support and requesting to change her name back to her maiden name legally.
Kim and Kroy first crossed paths at a charity event in May 2010, while he was playing for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Their relationship was documented on “RHOA,” and they eventually got married on November 11, 2011, at their previous property in Roswell, GA.
Merely half a year ago, Kim and Kroy pondered on what they deemed as vital elements to their enduring relationship.
Kim expressed, “Choosing to love that person day in and day out, I think it’s a choice and a lot of times people are just so quick to throw in the towel.”
Even though viewers may presume that reality television can convolute things, Kroy believed that they could persevere through any obstacle.
He stated, “When things get tough, people don’t want to stay true to their vows and stay true to their partner. They’d rather just say screw it and try it on the next one, but you got to hold true to your promises that you gave that person when you were standing in front of your friends and family.”
While it is the first marriage dissolution for Kroy, Kim has been divorced once before. She was married to Daniel Toce from 2001 to 2003.
