Larian Studios Tease Huge Baldur’s Gate 3 Updates – for PC and Console Players

Larian Studios has dropped hints about the inclusion of one highly sought-after feature in the upcoming update for Baldur’s Gate 3 – in game character customization!

This is great news for both PC and console players, as one of the main complaints has been the lack of customization once the game starts.

Fans have thoroughly praised the games Dungeons & Dragons-style gameplay, as well as just how enormous the map is. It’s estimated that it takes around 200 hours to complete a single playthrough (speed runs notwithstanding).

Larian has also unveiled the preload schedule and launch plan for the upcoming PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3, set to be released on September 6th, just around the corner.

According to a communication on X (formerly Twitter) by the studio players who have invested in the $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 will have the opportunity to commence preloading the game as of August 31st, starting at 16:00 UTC. They’ll also be able to dive into the gaming experience from September 2nd, at the same time, thanks to the early access privilege.

Meanwhile, for those who have pre-ordered the $69.99 Standard Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, preloading will become accessible starting at 16:00 UTC on September 4th. This will allow them to prepare for the complete PS5 launch of the RPG, scheduled for September 6th, once again at 16:00 UTC.

However, Xbox users aren’t in luck – at least not yet. Larian does have intentions of an Xbox Series X|S release. However, due to the technical limitations of the Series S, any possible release has been delayed. Developers estimate that BG3 will see a release in early 2024 for Xbox Series X|S. As a result, the game has sort of, temporarily at least, become a PS5 exclusive.
