Jamie Foxx has been recuperating from a recent medical issue, according to an update shared by his friend and comedian Martin Lawrence on April 20th.
Corinne Foxx, Jamie’s daughter, had announced the medical complication a little over a week ago. Martin’s update suggests that Jamie’s condition is improving, and he expressed his concern for his friend by saying that he prays for him every night and wishes him the best.
“I hear he’s doing better,” Martin conveyed to Extra. “My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person.”
Following his hospitalization, Jamie has been receiving an outpouring of love and support from his friends and associates in the entertainment industry. One such message of support came from Kerry Washington, who co-starred with Jamie in the movies Ray and Django Unchained. Alongside a photo of the two of them, Kerry shared a heartwarming message, calling Jamie her “movie huzbin” and sending him all her love and prayers.
Garcelle Beauvais, who acted alongside Jamie in the early 2000s in his namesake show, The Jamie Foxx Show, also shared a touching note with the actor as he continues to recover.
On April 13th, Kerry Washington took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and Jamie Foxx with a heartfelt message, “This an appreciation post for my friend @iamjamiefoxx. J, I love you so much!!! I want & need you to get better soon, sending you light love and prayers.”
Kerry’s message was a gesture of support for her friend, who had recently been hospitalized due to a medical emergency, as revealed by Jamie’s daughter Corinne.
The family shared on April 12th, through an Instagram post, that fortunately, Jamie Foxx’s condition is improving, thanks to the prompt action and exceptional care he received. They added that they are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his fans and followers, acknowledging how much he is adored, and expressed their appreciation for everyone’s prayers.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” the family wrote. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.”
