Netflix officially announced on October 10 that “Nobody Wants This,” featuring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, will return for a second season.
Fans are thrilled to see more of Brody’s Noah and Bell’s Joanne.
In this new season, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan will serve as executive producers and showrunners. Nora Silver will also join the production team. This promising change signals fresh energy for the series.
Creator Erin Foster expressed her joy in a statement, reflecting on how the show draws from her own love story with husband Simon Tikhman. She called it a “career highlight.” Foster noted, “The incredible cast, crew, and executives made this show what it is today. Experiencing viewers’ reactions has exceeded my dreams.”
Foster, 42, feels fortunate to continue this journey. She’s excited to collaborate with Konner and Kaplan, saying, “Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”
Production for season 2 is already underway.
Kaplan mentioned he’s having the best time working on it. Meanwhile, Konner described the experience as a “dream.” She praised Foster’s clear voice and collaborative spirit. “I’m a true fan of Erin’s work,” she added, looking forward to working with her longtime collaborators.
Alongside Bell and Brody, familiar faces will return, including Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons. Other returning cast members include Stephanie Faracy (Lynn), Michael Hitchcock (Henry), Tovah Feldshuh (Bina), Paul Ben-Victor (Ilan), Emily Arlook (Rebecca), Jackie Tohn (Esther), Sherry Cola (Ashley), and Shiloh Berman (Miriam).
Earlier this month, Foster hinted at a second season.
In an interview with IndieWire, she mentioned, “We’re getting a really positive response, and conversations about season two have started.” This positive feedback aligns perfectly with fan anticipation.
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, increasing demand for more. After 10 episodes filled with emotional twists, it concluded with Joanne letting Noah go. She realized that converting to Judaism was a heavy commitment. Understanding that Noah’s role as head Rabbi was vital, she made a selfless choice.
Yet, Noah pursued her, leading to a passionate kiss. This unresolved ending left fans eager for answers and more romance in season 2.
Before the show’s premiere on September 26, Bell shared her excitement.
She described “Nobody Wants This” as a “modern romcom.” She found it compelling that the characters are in their late thirties, addressing the complexities of dating and diverse backgrounds.
“I love how the show navigates dating apps and the challenges of different perspectives in love,” Bell, 44, said. “It’s a grown-up rom-com.”
With these exciting developments, the anticipation for season 2 continues to build.
Fans can look forward to more heartfelt moments and relatable storylines. The combination of a talented cast and a passionate creative team promises an engaging continuation of this beloved series.
As the writer’s room buzzes with ideas, the future of “Nobody Wants This” looks bright. Viewers can’t wait to see how Noah and Joanne’s journey unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates as production progresses!
