Liam Payne is fully committed to his future endeavors. The 29-year-old former member of One Direction shared that he recently reached a significant milestone of 100 days of sobriety. Furthermore, he is actively preparing for a tour centered around his highly anticipated second album, which is yet to be released.

In an interview with iFL TV, Payne expressed his excitement and gratitude when complimented on his appearance. “I have been sober for over 100 days now,” he revealed. “I feel amazing. I feel really, really good, and the support from the fans and everything has been really, really good, so I’m super happy.”

The renowned artist previously opened up about the challenges he faced while being part of the globally successful band, One Direction. Liam Payne candidly shared that he often resorted to alcohol as a coping mechanism during his time in the group.

In a 2019 interview with Men’s Health Australia, he likened the experience to donning a Disney costume before stepping on stage, while privately struggling with alcohol-related issues. Payne expressed that although they had an extraordinary time together and created lasting memories, certain aspects of their journey became somewhat toxic.

Following the group’s decision to take an extended hiatus in 2015, Payne, along with his talented bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, ventured into solo careers, each pursuing their individual paths in the music industry.

The “Strip That Down” singer released his debut album LP1 in 2019.

Although he has released a few standalone singles in the years that followed, the musician recently revealed to iFL that he has been dedicating himself to crafting a successor to his debut record.

He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’ve been making an album for a change, which is quite fun. It’s been good, so I’m excited to bring it out here and I definitely want to tour this time, which is unusual ‘cause I wasn’t sure I was gonna tour for a long time. I was kind of over it a little bit. But I’m really excited to get back out on the road and go and see all the fans.”

On June 11, Payne is gearing up to showcase his skills at Old Trafford in Manchester as a participant in Soccer Aid, an event dedicated to raising funds for Unicef UK. While captaining the England team last year led to defeat, he’s adopting a fresh perspective for this year’s match.
