Netflix Finally Breaks Silence on Deal With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

There’s been quite a bit of a spotlight Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently.

It seems that due to a reported lack of content, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, have gone their separate ways with mega-streamer, Spotify. But it looks like their deal with Netflix is still happening.

So what content can we expect?

The couple had reportedly signed a $100 million deal with the streaming giant back in 2020, and according to a Netflix spokesperson, that deal is now moving forward. They said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight Canada, “We value our partnership with Archewell Productions. Harry & Meghan was Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, and we’ll continue to work together on a number of projects, including the upcoming documentary series Heart of Invictus.”

There are high hopes for Prince Harry’s show, Heart of Invictus, which will showcase athletes from around the world as they prepare for the titular Invictus games.

In a statement to the New York Times, Prince Harry said, “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

And rumors are swirling that the two may even have a show in the works that features their own spin on the classic “Great Expectations,” under the working title “Bad Manners.” While this hasn’t been confirmed, the show is reported to focus on beloved Charles Dickens’ character, Miss Havisham. “The prequel will recast the lonely spinster as a strong woman who is living in a patriarchal society,” says The Mirror.
