The Story Behind Savannah Chrisley and Country Singer Nate Smith: What Actually Happened Between the Duo?

Savannah Chrisley, the former “Chrisley Knows Best,” star is widely known for her passion for country music.

In 2021, she openly expressed her admiration for Kelsea Ballerini’s song “Love Me Like A Girl” by sharing it on Instagram and adding the caption, “I swear my life is a country song.” Furthermore, in 2018, Chrisley had a notable appearance in Matt Stell’s music video for “Prayed for You,” where she co-starred with her ex-partner, Nic Kerdiles.

Chrisley’s dating history encompasses country musician Blaire Hanks, as well as Stell. However, she disclosed that she had only been on a single date with Stell, explaining on SiriusXM’s “The Highway,” “The waters were definitely tested. You got to date to know where you got to land.” Eventually, both Chrisley and the singer realized that they were better suited as friends rather than romantic partners.

In January 2023, Chrisley also conducted an interview with Nate Smith, “World on Fire,” singer for her “Unlocked” podcast. Coincidentally, that same month, Smith had achieved his first No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

During the show, Chrisley informed Smith that he was the first musician she had ever interviewed, but she didn’t go easy on him. She swiftly delved into the emotionally charged subject of Smith’s divorce, which had occurred over a decade ago. “You were probably three years old,” Smith quipped in response to Chrisley’s probing questions, highlighting the age difference between them (he is approximately 12 years older than the podcast host). Despite her shock upon discovering that Smith had proposed to his ex-wife with a Ring Pop, Chrisley’s curiosity was undeterred, and it did not dissuade her from considering a romantic relationship with her guest.

Why Savannah Chrisley and Nate Smith’s Relationship Did Not Last

In a recent episode of “Unlocked” in May 2023, Savannah Chrisley shared the news that her romantic involvement with Nate Smith had come to an end, concluding their months-long relationship that had been kept low-key. However, it appeared that the split did not leave the “Whiskey on You” singer drowning in sorrow. Chrisley described the experience as positive but suggested that perhaps it was a case of the right person at the wrong time.

Although Savannah held Smith in high regard, their differing life circumstances ultimately presented insurmountable challenges for their relationship to thrive. Smith’s country music career had taken off just as they started dating, demanding his attention for touring and promoting his debut album.

Meanwhile, Savannah was adjusting to a new role as the guardian of her younger brother, Grayson Chrisley, and her niece, Chloe Chrisley. The responsibility had fallen on her after her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, began serving their prison sentences in January 2023.

Savannah candidly shared the difficulty of her situation, expressing, “It’s incredibly challenging for anyone to grasp the extent of trauma I’m currently experiencing in my life.” She further revealed that feelings of guilt played a role in the breakup since she didn’t want to leave Chloe and Grayson behind while accompanying Smith on his country-wide tours and industry events.

She acknowledged, “He needs someone who can fully participate in those aspects and enjoy them alongside him.”

Savannah Chrisley’s Insights from Nate Smith’s Duet Partner

Following the end of her relationship with Nate Smith, Savannah Chrisley engaged in an intriguing conversation with Tenille Townes, Smith’s duet partner on the song “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven,” in an episode of her “Unlocked” podcast.

During the discussion, Savannah candidly revealed that she discovered her former fiancé, Nic Kerdiles, was not the right match for her when she heard Townes’ song “When’s It Gonna Happen” playing on the radio. She also admitted that the question of when she will find lasting love is one that frequently crosses her mind.

In an amusing twist, Savannah shared a witty anecdote about her 10-year-old niece, Chloe Chrisley, weighing in on her quest for Mr. Right. Recounting the incident, Savannah chuckled as she recalled Chloe’s deadpan remark, “Sassy, you’re on a dating app. You’re very desperate.” Taken aback, Savannah replied, “Excuse me?” To which Chloe responded matter-of-factly, “You’re literally on an app. You have to be desperate for a boyfriend.”

Any potential suitors who match with Savannah might find it challenging to measure up to the impressive standards set by Smith when it comes to planning memorable dates. One standout experience included Savannah joining Smith for his performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” While updating her “Unlocked” listeners on her life, Savannah enthusiastically shared, “We had an incredible time, the absolute best.”

During Smith’s appearance on the podcast, he and Savannah concurred that they desired a partner who didn’t require fixing, as they were both willing to invest the necessary effort to foster mutual growth and improvement.
