The statement highlights Turner’s profound impact on her fans worldwide through her music and unwavering zest for life, serving as an inspiration for aspiring talents. While the exact cause of her passing remains undisclosed, it’s known that Turner had faced various health challenges in the past.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the statement read.

In 2013, Tina Turner experienced a stroke. She woke up one morning unable to speak and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Recounting the frightening incident in an interview with BBC, Turner shared, “Immediately they took me in and said, ‘It’s a mild stroke from the back of the head,’ and then they took me down in the room, and I didn’t believe it.”

In 2016, Turner received a diagnosis of intestinal cancer. In her memoir, “My Love Story,” as reported by Survivor Net, she candidly discussed her battle with cancer, which involved undergoing surgery to remove a portion of her intestine. Turner acknowledged, “I know that my medical journey is far from over.”

Following her triumph over intestinal cancer, Turner faced kidney problems. Her struggle with these health issues became a significant focal point in one of her final social media posts prior to her passing.

Just after her cancer diagnosis, Tina Turner also received news of kidney failure. The iconic “Proud Mary” singer revealed that her life took a dramatic turn after the diagnosis. She candidly expressed this in an article for Show Your Kidneys Love

Turner shared, “In order to survive, I had to start dialysis. It was my only option, but it was depressing to be connected to a machine for hours.”

In her memoir titled “My Love Story,” she unveiled a harrowing revelation about her health, disclosing that she was on the brink of death with her kidneys functioning at a mere 20 percent. The music legend’s husband, Erwin Bach, selflessly donated his kidney to her. Therefore, in 2017, Turner underwent a successful kidney transplant. 

In one of her final Instagram posts, Tina Turner highlighted the significance of International World Kidney Day, emphasizing the importance of understanding the silent nature of kidney failure. She candidly shared her own personal journey, admitting that she had disregarded the warning signs of her declining health. 

Turner revealed, “My kidneys are victims of my not realising that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine. I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication.”

The exact cause of Tina Turner’s death remains undisclosed as of now. However, it’s evident that her ongoing health challenges continued to impact her life until her demise.

In an interview with Show Your Kidneys Love, Tina Turner shared the difficulties she encountered following her kidney transplant. She revealed, “From time to time my body tried to reject the donor kidney as it frequently happens after transplantation. Every so often this required more hospital admissions.” 

Turner endured lingering symptoms such as nausea and dizziness, acknowledging the complexities of managing her condition. She admitted, “These problems are still not quite resolved. I am on multiple prescriptions and take great care to follow my doctors’ orders meticulously. For I know that I can trust them and their therapies.”

Despite enduring ongoing health struggles, Tina Turner stood as a remarkable symbol of inner strength, unwavering in her ability to embrace a positive outlook. Throughout her life, she faced formidable challenges, from surviving a stroke to battling cancer and undergoing a kidney transplant. Yet, Turner’s spirit remained unbreakable.

On her 80th birthday in 2019, as reported by The Mirror, the musician expressed feeling better than ever. She exclaimed, “I’m 80 … I look great. I feel good. I have gone through some very serious sicknesses that I am overcoming. It’s like having a second chance at life.”
