It looks like Tyga and Avril Lavigne have recently made their budding romance public. Anyone who doubts the “Rack City” rapper’s adoration for the “Sk8er Boi” star need only look at the $80,000 necklace she wore when the couple stepped out on the town.
The massive necklace spells out Avril’s first name in black and white diamonds. Her first initial appears over pink hearts on either side of the chain. Further up are two skulls and crossbones wearing pink bows.
Mavani & Co Jewelry founder Eric Mavani says the necklace features 50 carats of white and black diamonds and pink sapphires.
Avril wore the necklace when she stepped out for date night with Tyga. The two were wearing coordinated all-black nylon sweatsuit ensembles.
Last month, an insider told the press that Lavigne and her ex-fiance Mod Sun called off their engagement after less than a year.
“Avril and Mod Sun have been on and off for the past two months but they are no longer together as a couple,” the insider said.
“I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken,” Mod wrote in a Feb. 28 Instagram post shortly after the split.
The singer was later spotted with Tyga on numerous occasions including an outing to Nobu restaurant last month.
They later confirmed their romance when they were spotted kissing outside the Mugler X Hunter Schafer party at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month. A day later, they sat together in the front row at the Y/Project Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear show.
“Tyga and Avril are getting to know each other. It’s very new. It’s very casual,” a source revealed. But the $80,000 gift indicates that they may be taking it to the next level.
