After five decades, we finally have a sequel to the iconic horror movie, The Exorcist! Production started early last year when Blumhouse took the mantle. It’s going to be set in modern times and the story is about two girls who disappeared in the woods only to return three days later with no memory of what happened, but alas, they have been possessed by a demon. Horror fans, get your A-game on for this much-awaited sequel.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom
Jason Momoa will be back on the big screen as a Christmas treat! Set for release in December this year, we follow the story of Aquaman as the King of Atlantis. He faces a returning villain, Black Manta, who has gained some magic powers through the black trident and seeks to destroy him. DC fans sure are looking forward to this sequel!
Wonka
The quirky character of Johnny Depp from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is ingrained in our collective consciousness. So it’s awesome to see that we have an upcoming film about his rise to riches. Timothee Chalamet will star as the young version of Willy Wonka in this movie, and he gets to meet the Oompa-loompas for the first time. Folks, get your golden tickets ready!
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
The Hunger Games movies left an indelible mark on anyone who saw it. But it leaves the audience wanting more, especially on the history of Panem and the Hunger Games. Thankfully, production has been greenlit for the prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, so we’ll get to see historical Panem, and President Snow’s ascension to power.
Dune: Part Two
Dune had been a true cinematic experience when it was released. The casting was also phenomenal and the visual effects really transported us to Arakis. Get ready to go back to the world of sand and spice in 2024 Dune: Part Two graces the big screen. For sci-fi fans out there, you probably know what’s going to happen. But we assume it continues the journey of Paul Atreides and the Fremen in taking back the planet or getting revenge on the colonizers. We can’t wait!
